Personal Qualities and Attitudes
When I first came to Aclc I was extremely angry. I came from Oakland High School a regular public school, I've always to gone to public schools in Oakland my whole life and I've honestly adjusted to a certain vibe only Oakland schools delivered. Arriving at Aclc I was baffled by every students behavior, they weren't fighting, no one was hostile, but instead welcoming. There was no student athlete nor cheerleaders, it was a safe zone from everything in the world and I was stuck in it. I hated everyone's friendly attitude, it pissed me off to know that these kids were shielded for so long and I envied them. I still do, but I have grown fond of this school and I've learned to consider it a second home.

New Basics
Aclc has made me who I am. This school creates a safe environment to help kids and young adults create their own personalities with little to no judgement by their peers. This safe environment has not only been an opportunity for learners to grow up and mature without interruption, but has also has allowed learners a safe environment to express their ideas. Unlike most schools Aclc’s queer community was and still is very large and strong. It amazed me a how young adults my age can be so passionate about a single topic, it wasn't an educational topic, it wasn't a topic forced upon them either, but it was a topic that the learners of Aclc chose.

Thinking and Reasoning Skills
This school does not create followers, it creates leaders. Every student at Aclc is given multiple opportunities to flourish and expand their minds for themselves. Aclc’s free periods have been a prime example of learners taking part in their own growth, whether if it's doing homework, independent study or even skipping free periods and going with friends enjoying life; this all takes part in the growth of learner. Although learner's skipping of free periods pose threats to their safety and the school’s reputation. Skipping free periods are beneficial to a learner's growth, it allows learners to experience the teenage dream, it matures them, puts them through the Goonies lifestyle with their friends and creates a sense of community and ownership to the learner.

Work Habits
Aclc might be flawed academically, but the leadership and community it built for me no other school could possibly have done. It doesn't turn boys into men, nor girls into women, but it turns followers into the leaders of tomorrow. We're all born leaders, but turned into followers by our parents and society. Aclc gives us our birth right back, it gives us freedom, it even allows the timid to express themselves through classes and school events such as Leadership and fundraisers. This school has served me greatly in not only my academic habits, but also my life habits.

Interpersonal and Collaborative Ability
I've personally benefitted from all of Aclc’s characteristics ranging from it's free periods to leadership. I took part in a lot Aclc’s events such multicultural night and Aclc’s public festivals. Recently I have been voted to be JC clerk a student ran judicial committee clerk, this is another traditional student ran program that gives students to flourish as leaders. I am also taking part in my leadership class, which further more tries to involve the students in maturing and becoming leaders. I use to be hesitant to join these kinds of school programs and classes.
I've always felt like just smart members of the school were the only ones that joined. I mean I was right, but I also felt like I had to take part in learning to be apart of a team and to be a leader. I shouldn't exclude myself from beneficial things if there are people I don't like taking part in them, but instead should learn how to deal with them.

Technology
ACLC has made me grow tremendously in my knowledge over technology. Never in my life have I ever had a school that provided me with computers, internet, free time and classes such DVS and Digital Music. I have both fallen in love and fallen out of love with video editing softwares and digital music making. David Dilworth has provided me through out the four years of my high school experience an experience I'll never forget and a new set of tools and skills that will help me wherever I go.

Internship
Woody's Cafe
Introduction
Woody's Cafe is a local Cafe in my neighborhood that I've become quite fond of over the past three years. I became a regular customer at the age of twelve, Woody's cafe was the only source of internet I had in over five years and so all my homework and social media would be done there. This allowed me to grow to grow a strong friendships with the workers there and even getting to intern there. The reason Interned here at Woody's Cafe was because I wanted to work as a barista, it seemed like an interesting job to make coffee and meet new people. In Cafe's it seemed like everybody would hang out there and socialize unlike a restaurant, which has temporary customers.
JOURNALS
Day 1
My first day at woody's cafe I was instantly thrown into work as a cashier, which was extremely challenging me because I was very nervous and worried of making a mistake. A very nice worker there named Maria Bastido supervised me and instructed me to process the debit cards and take the customer's orders. The day was very busy and very demanding, towards the 7pm the amount of clients declined and we began closing. They were all impressed with how fast I worked, but annoyed by my questions.
Day 2
Today was my second day at woody's cafe and I am very embarrassed to report that I messed up the debit card process, forgetting to place our copies of the receipts in the drawer, I didn't print out any copies at all except those for the customers. This caused a problem when it came to counting the money, however the workers cut me some slack despite my ignorant mistake and I was placed as the cashier. In addition I was given new responsibilities, such as making drinks and serving the customers personally.
Day 3
My coworkers have informed me that there was robbery the other day, due to this our business open time has changed to closing at 7pm, due to the owner's fear of future robberies taking place during closing hour and one of us being caught in the action. In other new's one of my supervisors Dorthy taught me how to make many drinks from Frappuccino's to the Cafe's special, Bee Stings. I honestly like this work environment, I feel comfortable and at home, the owner is talkative, but only arrives in the mornings limiting my time with him, he's young.
Day 4
I' was originally looking forward to working at the cafe as barista today, I've grown into it these past three days. However my friend Robert had a different idea today, he already had a full house of employees working today, so instead Robert sent me next door to his Laundromat to help one of his employee's clean the washing machines. This was more of a janitor job compared to actual cafe work and a lot more tiring. It was boring they had me mop the floor and clean all the dust/dirt from the washing machines. I stayed until closing time for a coffee and to make sure everything was okay on the Cafe side. Towards the ending I was moved to the Cafe area, which I helped close.
Day 5
Today is my last day interning at Woody's Cafe, sadly although it was my last it felt like just another day at the cafe with a busy morning and calming evening. I had the same duties as always, but there was change to my attitude and the attitude of the customers. There were less smiles and joking around about how I'm new and more ordering for food and drinks. I feel like if I were to work here it would become more of a routine to wake up see the same customers and serve the same drinks and that's exactly what I did. However something interesting did happen today, I was told to refuse service and kick out a man who apparently bothers my coworkers and loiters inside the cafe on a weekly bases. He was an aggressive man, you could see it in his eyes, I was not successful in removing him and was forced to play the waiting game.
Closing Report
Woody's Cafe was truly a growing experience for me not only as a employee, but a person. Through out the course of my 20 hour internship, 4 hours a day, I served as Cashier, Barista, Waiter/Server. I learned how to manage cash register box's, I learned how to make special coffee's such as fraps and "bee stings" and I learned how properly count inventory and money at the end of everyday. I built strong relationships with the coworkers and the boss. Getting to know the kindest people and the rudest customers. I felt as if I grew in responsibility and as a person, dealing with new conflicts and learning to work in a healthy environment.

My Best Work

The three pieces I am most proud of in the time period I was in ACLC are my: APA formatted essay (History), My essay “Dreams”on “Their eyes were watching god” (English) and a meal log I’ve created for a person weighing who wants to gain weight 104 lbs (Science). The APA format essay I made in history class was the first APA format essay I have ever written, honestly I have never written something that long, so it’s an achievement. I also learn how to cite my sources credibly from this essay, although I did not achieve an “A” letter grade I am still proud of learning. My English essay for “Their eyes were watching god” was the first well made essay I made in a short period of time without an outline. This a good step forward from my mediocre writing skills I’d still like to further improve. For my science class I created a meal log determining calories per day from their weight. From their weight I was able to find the right percentage of grams per pound of Carbohydrates, Protein and Fats. This helped me determine what their daily intake would be if they wanted to gain weight and so from there I divided that by five in order to create five meals a day. This took an enormous amount of time because I had to find credible ways in order to determine how to actually do my math and also study and find foods that fit their meal intake exactly. Overall I am very pleased from my work and mainly do work I do on my own.

The Future
Personal Vision
Within a 20 year span I plan to have a lot to call my own. In the first 6 years of those 20 years I plan to major in Kinesiology and learn about the anatomy of joints, muscles and tendons in order to apply it to my workout programs. This application of knowledge will help me train injured athletes and also teach me correct forms to perform exercises while avoiding injuries. This can also open doors into chiropractic practice, which I’m also familiar with and interested. In a year I hope to have acquired my personal training license and CPR certificate via NASM. This would open doors on my price range to be around $40-70 an hour, which I will supplement with yet another part time job in a gym going for minimum wage. I will do this while living having almost nothing, I plan to sleep in my car and do personal hygiene in a gym shower. I will try to purchase an RV or a trailer within the year span of living in my car, this would allow to cut my food cost in half. I will keep my car, which is considered as a classic car as source of money in case I run out of money. This car will be kept in Stockton in a small lot I am familiar with. Within 4 years as I turn 22 years old I plan to begin investing in index funds in order to create a source of income while I put more time into school rather than work. Meanwhile in the span of those 4 years I would build up my credit in order to purchase homes, land or apartments in cheaper places away from the bay area such as Stockton. This would take a lot of time, money and patience, but hey I have my whole life to kill, which on average would be 50-70 years. I would use my saved up money to buy a warehouse in Oakland in order to build a gym that provides personal training on Calisthenics, Weight training; Power lifting, Weight gaining, Weight loss, Combat training: Jujitsu, Boxing and boxing and also physical therapy and injury recovery. The reason why I’m offering so much is because I have a brother named Ernesto, he has been giving the go to start a school under the name of Rocha Jujitsu as long as Rocha can come and do seminars in the school.
